IGBALAJOBI, A CHIP OF THE OLD BLOCK...Femolad

IGBALAJOBI, A CHIP OF THE OLD BLOCK

E se rere as a nick name was not just coined for politics or as a campaign slogan. It was both inherited and merited.

Late Pa Igbalajobi was given that name because of his deeds and attitude of always striving to do good to all and sundry at all times.

There were times he went to great inconveniences to do good for others.

I was once a beneficiary. A political ally of mine just had a baby. it was the sixth day and just one day to the naming ceremony. He came to me panicky. He needed a goat.

It was mid-month. Ground dry.

Pronto! The solution came. I gave him a note to Pa Igbalajobi. He gave the man a big goat without asking me or haggling about price. I paid at the end of the month. That ally of mine never knew how much the goat was or how and when I paid.

That friend of mine is probably reading this now.

I told this story to let you, my reader, know where "E se rere" came from.

His son AbdulMajeed Adekola has taken after his father. Not surprised because Yorubas say "Omo ko le ba ipele iya e, ko si aso da". The type of fabric a child inherits determines her taste in cloths.

Meet Igbalajobi, PDP Councillorship Candidate for Ward 6, Ibadan North East.

He was born at Eda's compound in Oje Ibadan.

He attended IMG Primary School Oje E5 and United Secondary School, Agugu.

He is a prominent member of Ibadan Plank Sellers Association

Abdulmajeed is the External Affairs Officer of the Muslim Congress, Oyo State

A former Supervisory Councilor and one-time Special Assistant, both times in Ibadan North East Local Government, Igbalajobi is more than ripe for the position of Councilor for Ward 6,.

That is why I support this chip of the good old block.
