SAVE EGBEDA FROM GERONTOCRACY…..YOD

The Youth Of Democracy is (Y.O.D.) is a sociopolitical group which spreads across all the local government of Oyo State and some neighboring local governments in Osun State.

The leader of the group, Dr Bola Osuntade while speaking to press at a ceremony in honor of a former Chairman of Ikire branch of the group commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State on the giant strides he has  taken in his first incarnation as governor of Oyo State . He wished Governor Makinde a better performance in his Omituntun 2.0

He also congratulated Governor Jackson Ademola Adeleke on his election and assumption of office.

Both governors according to him are young and vibrant, hence their high performance.

Osuntade also saluted governor Makinde for running a youth-inclusive government. This, he said was responsible for his great success. The youth have energy and zeal which they bring to governance.

He however frowned at the case of Egbeda Local Government in Oyo State.

Though the Chairman Sikiru Sanda is middle aged, his Vice Chairman is an octogenarian. This, he said, has been responsible for the below-par performance of the local government in the current 3-year dispensation. Sanda doubles as the State ALGON (Association of Local Governments of Nigeria) Chairman and the National Vice Chairman. One would have expected Chairman saddled with state and national assignments would have a vibrant and agile Vice Chairman to make up for the distracted Chairman.

Osuntade believes those foisting 88-year old Pa Amos Oludele Olawoyin on the local government are not interested in the progress and wellbeing of the  people of Egbeda but their own personal Interests.

He particularly fingered Honorable Busari Olayemi.

He therefore appealed to Governor Makinde to use his good offices to rescue  Egbeda Local Government from Honorable Olayemi’s vice grips and retrogressive actions.
