LOCAL GOVERNMENT POLLS:  GROUP CALLS FOR INVESTIGATION OF OLAYEMI, OTHERS

The Egbeda Women Mandate has called on the Oyo State Executive of the People’s Democratic Party to look seriously into the allegations of underhand activities levied against the Candidate of the party for House of Representative in the 2023 elections, Busari Olayemi.

In a statement issued after its Monthly meeting on Tuesday 18^th July 2023, the group said “We want the Party to investigate the reasons for the party’s dismal performance at the elections and what the personality of the candidate has to do with it.”

Busari Olayemi has never contributed positively to the progress of the party. Instead he prefers to keep and protect his “Accord” group to the detriment of the PDP in Egbeda and Ona Ara.

According to Alhaja Fatima Oladebo, the leader of the group, Olayemi could not deliver his polling unit and ward for the party at his own elections. She wondered what kind of leader that is.

Olayemi, according to Egbeda women mandate, is only good at only one thing. That is fighting desperately for leadership without having any leadership qualities and running down other well-meaning leaders and elders of the party.

We are also aware of a five million naira bribery scandal making the rounds of recent. It according to information involved Olayemi, Adurodekun and some others. We wonder why he is always trailed by scandals everywhere he goes.

We therefore call for an investigation into these matters, while we pledge to be present to give evidence when such enquiries are instituted.
